Our recommendation

For dosing nanobubbles into a NFT irrigation system, we recommend using our Triton systems. The included tank mixers ensure proper distribution throughout the silo.

When using nanobubbles on a NFT irrigation system the Triton system should be equipped with our O2Solutions maintenance free built-in dissolved oxygen regulator, which maximises the oxygen level in the silo to prevent over dosing and optimum control of the DO levels in the irrigation system.

Capacity nanobubble generator

Ensuring the nanobubble generator has sufficient capacity to dose nanobubbles effectively into your NFT irrigation systems is crucial.

For accurate determination of the appropriate Triton system capacity, we recommend consulting our experts for calculations. Feel free to contact us if you need assistance in determining the correct capacity.

Latest projects

We recently supplied the following companies with a nanobubble generator for their daily supply silo.

Installation nanobubble generator Triton

The Triton system arrives fully assembled with all necessary PVC fittings for mounting on NFT irrigation systems. The delivery includes:

  • Triton nanobubble generator
  • Bracket with PVC couplings for mounting pipework on the edge of the irrigation system
  • Suction and tank mixer for optimal nanobubble mixing within the system

As a customer, you only need to provide your own 50 mm PVC pipe. The nanobubble generator comes pre-set from the factory and is ready for quick installation in your NFT irrigation system.

Maintenance nanobubble generator

O2Solutions’ unique design guarantees maintenance-free operation of the system for NFT irrigation systems. Unlike other systems on the market, our nanobubble generators do not require chemical cleaning during use.

The only maintenance needed is an annual check-up of the oxygen concentrator, which our service departments in the Netherlands and Canada will coordinate and perform for you.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

We recommend keeping a value between 15 and 20 ppm to get the optimal result.

If fertilisers are also dosed to the daily supply silo, the DO reading on the Nanobubbles system should not be set above 17ppm to avoid reaction with iron chelate.

Technically, the Triton needs a pre-filtration of 1,000 microns to protect the device, but for the optimal performance of nanobubbles, a pre-filtration of at least 40-60 microns is advised.

Broadly speaking, yes, with the exception of crops with a high organic load in the water, in which case the dosage should be higher.

  • Make sure all supply lines entering the silo are below the water level, this gives higher efficiency, falling water causes nanobubbles to explode.
  • Make sure the intake line of the irrigation unit is properly sized and does not pull too much vacuum, as vacuum pulling causes the nanobubbles to explode to larger bubbles and come out of the water.
